PATHFINDER ACADEMY WORKING WITH LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT (HS)

Pathfinder Academy now offers a study abroad program for students at local districts.  PFA’s study abroad program is a two semester program.  In the first semester, the student starts his day at Pathfinder with training.  He then showers, changes, and is transferred to his local school district to attend classes based on a schedule that is organized to work around the student’s ‘late start.’  In the second semester, the student travels to Spain for 3 months.  The student will be considered ‘studying abroad’ by the local district, and the student will follow the academic curriculum provided by PFA.  When the student returns home, he continues with the PFA curriculum to finish the semester, sits for regents exams at the local district.  Upon the completion of the semester, the PFA academic administrator works closely with the local district and the credits are accepted by the local district as their own.  The final transcript for the student for that year is the local district’s.

Additionally, the student will be issued transcripts from PFA for Physical Education (PE09 - 12) and for a project based learning curriculum focused on preparing the student for independent study, and capturing the cultural experience and learning that the student gained while abroad.  Whether or not these are accepted by the local district, it provides documentation that helps to craft the college application of the well rounded scholar that college admissions officers are looking for in candidates.

The cost for the program outlined above is $13,000 for High School students.  We believe Pathfinder Academy is competitively priced for the value and services we provide.  Most European high school trips are 7 - 10 days and range from $4,000-$8,000. We are including a soccer program, supporting the semester's education, and the Spain trip is 88 days. Simply stated we provide more value at a lower cost than any comparable program - academically and athletically.

We can also tailor the program to your specific situation. For example more or less time in Spain, additional classes, without the trip to Spain. Tailoring the program can increase or decrease your costs. Please reach out to me to discuss your specific situation and requests.

Furthermore, if social distance learning continues at your school, your son can leverage the Pathfinder Academy space for studying until normalcy returns.  If social distance learning continues at your local district and you wish to leverage our virtual learning platform (which is a lot more robust) we will need to work out additional fees. We do not foresee a scenario in which training will not be allowed.  HOWEVER, your deposit will be 100% refundable through June.

Discuss as a family, and if you have questions we should have a call with Dr Lawrence to discuss the specifics of the academic arrangements

PATHFINDER ACADEMY WORKING WITH LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT (SPRING BREAK)

Pathfinder Academy (PFA) now offers a study abroad program for students at local districts.  PFA’s study abroad program is a full year program.  In the first semester, the student starts his day at Pathfinder with training.  He then showers, changes, and is transferred to his local school district to attend classes based on a schedule that is organized to work around the student’s ‘late start.’  In the second semester, the routine remains the same but students travel to Spain for spring break.
